Huge Money Losses in the Strip

It can seem that in such place as Las Vegas the gambling turn-down is far from getting over, as it is proved by their slots. But in the most famous gambling area in the world casinos really had the largest loss than ever during the 25-year-term, and this loss occurred last month. The revenue of slot machines casinos dropped 25.7% just in October.

There has been a steady decline in the sales of slot machines in the state, but this one was the most dramatic one the state has ever seen. During the last ten months the casinos witnessed the slow number fall, because fewer people have been visiting these casinos, those who visited still didn’t bring much money into these slots. The situation has been toughened due to the economic conditions and rising of gas prices. It caused a very miserable disposable income for the slots’ playing.

The Gaming Control Board of the state said that this drop was the largest one they had ever seen since 1983, when the monthly records stared to be preserved. Especially dramatic here is the fact, that last year this time the Strip had a great win of 19.8% in the revenue of slot machines and gambling.

In comparison with the last year the current numbers really seem worse against the background of the huge jump which took place last year, but it still means that always prosperous month really gave the poor results. All casinos have announced that since last year their revenue has dropped by $165 million. Approximately $5.4 billion were put in slots and table games by them. Besides, as they say, there was a lack of some special events which would draw people to slots and gambling tables, thus it is another fact which hurts.
