Hope for Another Solution
Moxie Mania is such a game, which won’t just disappear. It had been decided in the State of New York that these game didn’t belong to the category of slot machines, thus, they could be played all around the New York State - in the bars and so on. It caused the great influx of the slots like games and citizen really enjoyed playing them. These slots brought some real benefit to the owners of the bars, and those ones liked the opportunity to get some extra money.
Recently the State Liquor Authority Board has come to the conclusion that they were not just the analogy of slot machines, they were real slots. The authorities declared the illegality of these games and required removing them from the bars, because they had no permission to run the illegal slots.
The company which previously had the right of distribution of slots all over the NY State - Excelsior Distributors – were bound to remove all their slot machines from the bars and other locations where they had set their slots. Now they have faced the problem of collecting all these hundreds of slots in their warehouse having no idea where to use them. The president of the company, Loy Riggio, complains of having $400,000 worth commodity which he can’t move.
These games really remind us of the very sophisticated tic-tac-toe version, but thanks to them some winners get really considerable amounts of money. Once the court has declared their illegality, because they are actual slot machines, Pace-O-Matic still regained from the judge the right to stay, and now they still stay up and are considered to be legal, but among the bar owners no one orders these games anymore as long as they don’t know how this situation will be regulated. Moreover there are many of those who do not approve them, so they also had to remove their games from the locations.
